A comfortable workplace keeps staff productive and customers happy, and a breakdown in the middle of summer costs more than the repair. Here's how to choose commercial air conditioning, and how to keep it running.
Offices and shops
Most offices and shops suit high-wall split systems or ceiling cassettes. Cassettes sit flush in the ceiling and spread air in four directions, which suits open-plan offices and shop floors. Ducted systems hide everything except the grilles, for a clean fit-out. Zoning lets meeting rooms, offices and open areas run at different temperatures.
Restaurants and cafés
Dining areas fill up quickly and kitchens add a lot of heat. We size the system for a full room on a hot day, place the outlets so diners don’t sit in a draught, and plan around the kitchen and its extraction. Kitchens are hard on filters and coils, so regular servicing matters even more.
Warehouses and factories
Large spaces with high ceilings need a different approach from an office. We look at the space, the people and equipment in it, and how heat builds up, and recommend systems that put the cooling or heating where people actually work.
Maintenance contracts
A maintenance contract means your systems are serviced on a schedule, not only when something breaks. Regular servicing keeps them efficient, keeps the air cleaner, finds small faults before they turn into breakdowns, and keeps a record of the work for landlords, property managers and insurers.
Replacing or upgrading an old system
Many commercial jobs replace or upgrade equipment that already exists. We assess the existing system, the capacity you need, pipework, ductwork, electrical and controls, and access for future servicing, then recommend what can be reused and what should be replaced. See replacing an old heat pump.
